Plot[]
Bored trophy wife Darla has plans for her wealthy dull older husband after she meets a lovely masseuse, but does her new partner have plans for her?
Summary[]
Darla MacKendrick, a very wealthy woman, conspires with Beth Odets, her lover and female masseuse, to murder her husband, Charles. The two women met when Beth gave Darla a massage, and instantly became lovers. For some reason, Darla is unable to leave Charles because her prenup specifies she gets nothing in the event of death or divorce. She and Beth come up with a clever plot so that they can stay together and still have Charles's money: they murder Charles and, with the help of Howard, Beth's ex-boyfriend, stage a home invasion/abduction to cover it up.
Darla makes a brief statement to Detective Mitchum when a $10 million ransom demand arrives. At the drop site, Mitchum discovers that Darla has fooled the cops and absconded with the money. She goes to Charles's warehouse to meet Beth, who pulls a gun on her and demands the money. Howard, who has been watching from hiding, shoots Beth, mortally wounding her. He then tells Darla that Beth was Charles's lover, and that she hatched the entire plot with the intention of keeping the money and using Darla as a patsy. Howard demands a share of the loot, and accompanies Darla to the ladies' room, where she stashed the money, only to find nothing there. Howard denies having taken the money, but Darla shoots him anyway.
As Darla leaves the ladies' room and starts to ponder her future, she is shot by the mortally wounded Beth, and the two die in one another's arms. Outside, a cleaning lady places the ransom money in the trunk of her beat-up car and drives away.

"Whenever you find a rich man, you are bound to find a gold-digger waiting to take him for everything he's got. Well, tonight, somewhere in these Hollywood hills, this gold-digger really was using a shovel. It's been said the taste of evil smells like honeysuckle. I wouldn't argue with that, but tonight, there is a distinct smell in the air and it smells like murder."

"Poor Darla. She thought she'd planned the perfect murder, but greed makes suckers of all of us. There is no easy way to make money in this economy. Unless, of course, you're Elena Machado, a hard-working cleaning woman, who just got a very, very big severance package. I guess it's safe to say she won't be coming to work on Monday."
